Who we are

Progressive Media Investments is made up of different legal entities, including Progressive Media Investments Limited, New Statesman Limited, Spear Publishing Limited and Elite Luxury Publishing Inc.  This Privacy Policy is issued on behalf of Progressive Media Investments, so when we mention “Progressive Media Investments”, "we", "us" or "our" in this privacy policy, we are referring to the relevant Progressive Media Investments group company responsible for processing your data.  For further details on the entity which will be the controller of your personal data please refer to the table at the bottom of this Privacy Policy.

We may collect the following information:

(a) personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Website(s), register on the Website(s), place an order, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Website(s). Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information. Users may, however, visit our Website(s) anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. (b) non-personal information about Users whenever they interact with our Website(s).     We will use the identity, contact, transaction, profile, marketing and communications information the Users provide in order to set up their account (if applicable) and to provide them with content which might be of interest to them.     If a User has requested content provided by a third party, we may share their details with that third party where they have consented to us doing so, or where it is in our or that third party’s legitimate interests to do so.  We will notify a User if we intend to share their personal data with the relevant third-party content provider(s) at the point of collecting their personal information and they can withhold consent, or alternatively opt-out of us sharing their personal information by emailing us at unsubscribe@globaldata.com at that point.

    From time to time, we may also share their details with other carefully selected third parties who operate within their industry, and who may be able to provide additional content and services to help grow or provide value to their and/or that third party’s business.  Such third parties may contact them via their corporate email address with business-to-business related correspondence, which they can opt-out of at any time.   • If a User signs up to an event, seminar or workshop, we will collect their identity, contact, and financial information so that we can facilitate the event, provide an acceptable service, and respond to them. The lawful basis we rely upon for collecting this information is consent. If relevant for the event, we may also need information about dietary or access requirements, in which case we also need their consent as this type of information is classed as special category data.

    Some events may be photographed and/or recorded, in which case, the event presenters may be photographed and/or have their image and audio captured in the recording. If a User is an attendee (whether physically or virtually), they may also be photographed and their image and comments may also form part of the recording. Our purpose for collecting this information is so we can facilitate the event, provide wider access to its content and to also include within our marketing materials. The lawful basis we rely on for processing their personal information is our legitimate interests.

    Attendee contact information may be shared with event sponsors, with other attendees, and with third parties who run similar events which may be of interest to them. We will only do this where they have given us consent to share their contact information, or where it is in our legitimate interests to do.
